Pig Out in the Park - 29th annual food and music festival with 50 food booths and three beverage gardens. 75 entertainment acts perform on three stages for all six days of this event. Music performers include: Thursday: Bloodline; Friday: Sammy Eubanks, Ricochet, Curtis Salgado; Saturday: Electric Flag with the Tower of Power Horns; Sunday: Lucinda Williams, Too Slim and the Taildraggers, Jr. Cadillac; Monday: Smash Hit Carnival. Route of the Hiawatha - The “crown jewel” of rail-to-trail mountain bicycle trails is operated by Lookout Pass Ski Area. Wind through 10 tunnels and seven high trestles. This 15-mile route crosses the Bitterroot Mountains between Idaho and Montana, best known for the long St. Paul Pass or “Taft” Tunnel which is 1.66 miles in length. It’s all downhill with shuttle buses available to take you and your bike back to the top. Open daily through Oct. 5. 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m., Adjacent to I-90 at the Idaho/Montana state line, exit 0, 12 miles east of Wallace. Day pass: $9/adults, $5/ages 3-13. Silverwood Theme Park and Boulder Beach - Admission includes all rides, attractions and shows in the park and and at the beach. August: Sundays-Thursdays, 11 a.m.-9 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays, 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; Boulder Beach open daily 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Special events; Saturday, Coaster Classic, 7th annual Labor Day Weekend Classic Car Show features nostalgic cars lined up for one of the largest shows in the region. 27843 N. Spirit Lake Centennial Festival - Celebration of the town’s first 100 years. Wine tasting, vendors, artists, live music, mountain man encampment, antique steam engines, a mountain bike ride and more are just some of the events scheduled. Today through Monday. City Park, Spirit Lake. 623-2131.

Theatre Arts Classes for Kids - Hosted by Christian Youth Theatre-North Idaho. For children 6-18 years of age. Classes begin Sept. 9 and include Beginning Drama, Beginning Voice, Beginning Dance, Improv and Film Making Mania. Class session is 10 weeks long and will be held every Tuesday from 4-6 p.m. All enrolled students will be eligible to audition for the theatre’s fall production of “Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.” Altar Church, 901 E.
