Scrap metal thieves hit Dickson Iron
A pair of suspects entered the storage yard of Dickson Iron and Metal Sunday evening and made off with a pile of scrap copper.
According to Spokane Valley Police spokesman Sgt. Dave Reagan, a friend of the owner was driving by the yard at 907 N. Dyer Road about 6 p.m. and saw two suspects standing beside a gold-colored GMC pickup. Knowing the business was closed, the friend stopped to investigate.
He approached the men, and they said they had permission to work on the truck. The friend saw a pile of copper in the bed of the vehicle and backed off to call police.
The suspects left about five minutes before officers arrived.
The truck was an early 2000s model Sonoma with a Washington plate similar to A36362P.
Anyone with information regarding this burglary should call the Spokane Valley Police at 242-TIPS.
