Fire District 13 (Newman Lake) – Commissioners votes to accept the bid of Enduris for the district’s insurance. A resolution on the Lakeview Road annexation was approved. Commissioners also voted to declare the old fire boat surplus. (Source: Secretary Rosa Ingram)
Fairfield City Council – There was an update on the community center. The city will apply for a grant to pay for a new furnace and Hawley Construction will complete repairs on the roof. The city is also applying for a grant to complete sidewalks around the community center and a grant to do work on Main Street between Railroad and Fairweather. A two-year audit is under way. The Wastewater Treatment Facility was recently inspected. An executive session was held to discuss personnel matters. (Source: Town clerk Mary Kinsey)
Valley Fire – Station 9 is under construction and a dedication ceremony is planned for Sept. 11. The station is expected to open in October. Bids are being accepted for the sale of the old Station 9, a converted house. Commissioners approved a raise for the civil service commission attorney and discussed a new policy on meeting cancelations. There was a demonstration on video conferencing.
