Culinary event will support children’s Miracle Network

The 16th annual Chef’s Culinary Classic to benefit Children’s Miracle Network will be Jan. 24 at the historic Davenport Hotel at 6 p.m.

Chefs from the Inland Northwest will prepare a six-course meal; each dish paired with acomplimentary wine.

The black-tie affair will include silent and live auctions.

Tickets are $150 per person. Space is limited to 250 people.

Spaghetti feed fundraiser will benefit veteran

A spaghetti feed will be held on Saturday at VFW Post 1435 for retired Air Force veteran Jack Stephens, 57, who received burns over 80 percent of his body during a fire at his Airway Heights home earlier this year.

The dinner begins at 4:30 at the VFW, 212 S. David St., in Spokane Valley. Cost is $5.50 per percent and will help cover medical costs/ Valley at 4:30 p.m.

Antiques district holding Holiday Open House

Holiday shoppers will have an opportunity to find unique Christmas gifts at the Monroe Street Antique District’s seventh annual Holiday Open House on Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Sunday, from noon to 5 p.m.

Monroe Street has eight antique stores between the Monroe Street Bridge and Fairview and they will be extending their hours, offering Christmas specials and serving refreshments.

A drawing for a $100 gift certificate will also be included in the three-day holiday shopping event and may be redeemed at any of the eight stores.

KPBX radio will hold open house on Monday

Spokane Public Radio, 2319 N. Monroe St., will host its semiannual Open House Monday, from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet radio hosts, staff and board members, hear live music by Linda Parman, have some holiday treats and tour the studios. Door prizes will also be given away including “First Night” buttons and dining certificates from Aloha Island Grill.
