Pac-10 picks
We came THIS close to picking Washington in a major upset this week.
We looked at the records, the stats, the location and almost, almost settled on the Huskies ruining their perfect – in a bad way – season.
Why? Because we’re having too good a year. Heck, we’re winning at an almost 80 percent clip. That’s too much pressure on next season. Like the Huskies, we don’t want to raise expectations.
As always, the listed line is for your entertainment purposes only.
USC at UCLA (USC by 33): Both teams will be wearing their home jerseys in this one, harkening back to the golden days of college football. You know, 1982. Back when USC used to win this game all the time. Sort of like now. USC 31-10.
Arizona State at Arizona (UA by 11): The winner gets bragging rights in Kingman. The loser gets, well if it’s Arizona, the Wildcats will still go to a bowl, but on a three-game losing streak. ASU has won the last three in the rivalry and five of six. But this one goes to UA, 28-17.
Washington at Cal (Cal by 35.5): Yes, this is the game I’m staking my season upon. This is the game the Huskies finally get everything right and … ah, who am I kidding? This won’t be close. Cal 42-14.
Last week: 3-1 overall, 2-2 vs. spread; season: 57-16 overall, 37-34 vs. spread.
