The North Idaho College wrestling team had a rough start Friday at the 27th annual Cliff Keen Las Vegas Collegiate Wrestling Invitational.

Just one wrestler, 197-pound Rudy Brutschi, advanced to the quarterfinals. He went 2-1 and will wrestle for third place today.

All the other Cardinals suffered at least two losses and didn’t advance to the second day.

Washington breezed to a 3-0 win over Portland State in Seattle to advance to the second round of the NCAA tournament.

The Huskies (25-4) will take on Santa Clara today.

Sophomore setter Jenna Hagglund spread around a balanced offense that saw five Huskies finish with six or more kills.

Hagglund also registered five aces, tying her career high.

The Sicamous Eagles (14-15-2) rolled to a 12-2 decision over the Spokane Braves (14-13-1) in a KIJHL game at Sicamous, British Columbia.
