Whitworth presents Christmas concert

Whitworth University will present “Gaudete! Rejoice! Heaven and Earth are Full of Thy Glory” Friday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 318 S. Cedar St.

The annual Christmas Festival Concert will feature the Whitworth Choir and the Whitworth Women’s Choir, accompanied by brass and wind student ensembles and organ.

Tickets are $18 for general admission, or $15 for students and seniors 62 years and older. They are available online at www.whitworth.edu/ musictickets or by calling (800) 532-4668. They are also available at the information desk in the Hixson Union Building on campus; a limited number will be available at the door.

More Christmas programs

All Nations Warriors for Christ will present its Christmas program today at 6 p.m. in the Central Seventh-Day Adventist Church Fellowship Hall, 804 W. Spofford Ave.

The evening will include Christmas hymns, gifts for children and teens, drawings for prizes and dinner.

•The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th Ave., will present the traditional “Service of Nine Lessons and Carols” Sunday at 4 p.m.

The service will include preludes by the Handbell Choir, lessons read by members of the church and performances by the church choir.

First Church of the Nazarene, 9004 N. Country Homes Blvd., will present organist Kenneth Fuller in a Christmas concert Sunday at 6 p.m.

Fuller will play traditional, contemporary and sing-along carols.

First Covenant Church, 212 S. Division, will present the Christmas musical “KNO Christmas in Review” Sunday at 7 p.m.

The performance will be presented by the Kids Night Out Ministry of the church and refreshments will be served after the musical.

Green Bluff Community United Methodist Church, 9908 E. Green Bluff Road, Colbert, will present a living Nativity scene Saturday, and Dec. 19 and 20 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

There will also be another opportunity to see the Nativity Christmas Eve after the 7 p.m. family candlelight service.

The public is invited to walk up or drive by to see the Nativity.

Christmas dinners

Central Baptist Church, 19 W. Shannon, will present “Thread and Bread” Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m.

The evening will include a free buffet dinner and clothing giveaway.

Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church, 4449 N. Nevada, will present a dinner Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m.

The dinner will include a baked potato bar, fruit salad, ice cream sundaes and a beverage for $5 a person. Children 6 and younger are free.

There will also be an arts and crafts fair, candies and baked goods for sale.

Christmas movie

The Unity Church of Truth, 2900 S. Bernard, will present “Christmas at Maxwell’s,” a movie about a family losing hope until a visitor appears and changes their lives, Wednesday at 7 p.m.
