CHS, LCHS help in tree recycling

When the holiday season has come to a close and it’s time to take down your fresh Christmas tree, the students at Lake City and Coeur d’Alene high schools will have the tree recycling resources you’ll need to dispose of it safely.

The LCHS football team will pick up trees for a donation, or for a smaller donation trees may be dropped off at the school on Jan. 3 and 10.

The proceeds will benefit the football team.

The Coeur d’Alene High School baseball team will be collecting trees on Jan. 3 and 10. Trees may be dropped off at the CHS south parking lot for $2 or picked-up for $5.

Money raised will support the CHS baseball team.

Snow day alerts

With snow in the forecast, the Coeur d’Alene School District is prepared for emergency school closure. Information can be found by calling the District Hot Line phone number at 667-0784. The number will be updated by 6 a.m., if there is to be a school closure.

Snow day school closures will also be broadcast on local radio and television stations, including: KVNI Radio AM 1080, KREM TV Channel 2, KXLY TV Channel 4, and KHQ Q6 TV Channel 6.
