WSU women fall to UCLA
Lindsey Pluimer scored a game-high 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting and the UCLA women used a strong second-half effort to defeat Washington State 68-56 in a Pac-10 game Friday at Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles.
The Bruins led 33-30 at the half but outscored the Cougars 35-26 in the second half to put the game away.
Katie Appleton tallied a team-high 18 points for Washington State.
WSU fell to 3-19 on the season and 0-11 in conference play while UCLA improved to 12-11 and 7-5.
•Crystal Castle scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Lewis & Clark to a 69-57 victory over Whitworth in a Northwest Conference game at Pamplin Sports Center in Portland.
Kimberly Kittell added 14 points for the Pioneers, who held a 31-24 advantage in rebounds.
Natalie Orrell had 15 points and Alida Bower added 14 to lead the Pirates.
Whitworth fell to 11-9 overall and 6-5 in the NWC while Lewis & Clark improved to 11-9, 7-4.
•Michelle Pace made 15 of 20 free throws and finished with 25 points and 11 rebounds to lead Salt Lake to a 64-58 Scenic West Athletic Conference victory over North Idaho in Coeur d’Alene.
Kia Gibson scored 12 points, Lindsay Wimett chipped in 11 and Shaneya Valdez added 10 to lead NIC.
The Cardinals fell to 14-8 and 3-5 in conference play while Salt Lake improved to 18-5, 7-1.
•Nadia Parker scored 14 points and Simone Jelks added 13 as Southern California (14-9, 7-5) defeated Washington 68-52 in a Pac-10 game at Galen Center in Los Angeles.
Katelan Redmon (Lewis and Clark High) led the Huskies (9-14, 4-7) with a game-high 16 points.

David Berggren scored 21 points to guide Lewis & Clark to a 75-65 Northwest Conference victory over Whitworth at Pamplin Sports Center in Portland.
Tim Sellereit tallied a game-high 27 points on 9-of-12 shooting to lead the Pirates, who trailed 38-29 at halftime.
Whitworth fell to 15-5 and 8-3 in conference while the Pioneers improved to 12-7, 6-5.
•DaVell Jackson scored 24 points and handed out seven assists and Brian Green added 18 points as Salt Lake edged North Idaho 76-72 in overtime in a Scenic West Athletic Conference game in Coeur d’Alene.
Humberto Perez led the Cardinals with 18 points.
NIC fell to 16-7 and 1-7 in conference while Salt Lake improved to 22-1, 7-1.
