WAC honors Vandals’ Tardy
University of Idaho’s Bastien Tardy is the Western Athletic Conference men’s track athlete of the week for the week of Feb. 4-10.
Tardy, the WAC’s reigning indoor and outdoor 800-meter champion, made his season debut in his premier event at the Vandal Indoor last Friday and led from start to finish to win with a WAC-leading time of 1:53.58. It is almost a full second better than the second-best time in the conference.
This is the first career honor for the senior from Voisins le Bretteneux, France, and already the fifth total honor for an Idaho athlete this indoor season. At least one Vandals man or woman has been an athlete of the week in three of the past four weeks.
Idaho’s track and field teams will be in the Husky Indoor Classic on Friday and Saturday in Seattle.
