Snow buckles shed, killing Everett man
An Everett man was killed Monday evening in the Methow Valley when a shed collapsed under the weight of about four feet of snow.
William J. Morgan, 67, had gone to the shed to put away his chain saw, Okanogan County Sheriff Frank T. Rogers said in a news release. When Morgan didn’t return, his wife went looking and discovered the collapsed shed, then called for help.
Several volunteers cleared snow off the structure and removed debris, Rogers reported. They found Morgan, but he was declared dead at the scene after attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.
It appeared the shed, which was under heavy snow and leaning to one side, collapsed just as Morgan was leaving.
