Wulff adds coach to complete staff

PULLMAN – Washington State head football coach Paul Wulff completed his coaching staff Monday, adding veteran offensive line coach Harold Etheridge.

Ethridge, a 25-year coaching veteran, coached last season at Northern Illinois. Prior to that, Ethridge was at North Texas State (2004-06) for three seasons and at Army (2000-03), where he worked with Cougars assistants Jody Sears and Travis Niekamp.

“Harold brings a tremendous amount of experience and has previously worked with some of our coaches on staff,” Wulff said in a media release. “He comes highly recommended as a football coach, teacher and recruiter.”

Wulff also announced the staff assignments.

Offensively, besides Ethridge working with the line, Todd Sturdy will be offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, Rich Rasmussen will be the tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator, and the two holdovers from Bill Doba’s staff, Steve Broussard and Mike Levenseller, will cover running backs and wide receivers, respectively.

Defensively, Sears and Chris Ball will be co-defensive coordinators, with Sears working with cornerbacks and Ball, who will also be assistant head coach, the rest of the secondary. Malik Roberson and Niekamp, who, along with Sears and Rasmussen came with Wulff from Eastern Washington, will coach the defensive line and linebackers, respectively.
