NEW FACES Dr. Douglas Brown has been hired by Valley Obstetrics and Gynecology in the practice of obstetrics and gynecology. He is a graduate of the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internship at Carson City Hospital. He completed his residency at Mt. Clemens General Hospital.

Cindy Christensen has been hired as an inside sales specialist by Structured Communication. She holds a degree in business from the University of Washington and previously worked for All Points Distributing.

Cancer Care Northwest has hired Allison Benjamin as an oncology liaison and marketing and public relations officer. She is a graduate of Eastern Washington University and previously worked at Desautel Hege Communications.

Dr. Sherwin Foster has been hired by Holy Family Hospitalists in the practice of internal medicine. He is a graduate of St. George’s University and completed his internship and residency at D.C. General Hospital. He also completed a fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina.

KUDOS The Hecla Mining Co.’s Grouse Creek Unit recently received the environmental excellence award from the Northwest Mining Association for the company’s reclamation effort at the Grouse Creek Mine in Custer County, Idaho.

John Gilchrist Jr., vice president of the Deaconess and Valley Healthcare Foundation, was recently named a certified fundraising executive by CFRE International. The certification is based on a written exam, tenure in the profession, education and demonstrated fundraising achievement.

PROMOTIONS Yvonne Holland has been promoted to vice president of Washington operations at Global Credit Union. She has been with the company for 23 years.

Hilary Whittington has been promoted from staff accountant to senior accountant at Dingus, Zarecor & Associates.

GIFTS Numerica Credit Union recently gave $5,000 to the Spokane Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Center and $5,000 to the Children’s Village in Coeur d’Alene. The funds came from the credit union’s annual benefit auction.

The Spokane Home Builders Association recently gave $37,197 to Wishing Star. The money was raised from the fourth annual Wishing Star auction put on by the association.
