Suns beat Nets for 14th straight time at home

Amare Stoudemire had 28 points and the Phoenix Suns made it 14 in a row at home over New Jersey by routing the Nets 116-92 on Sunday night.

Raja Bell added 20 points, including 5-of-10 3-pointers. New Jersey hasn’t won in Phoenix since March 13, 1993.

Six players, including all five starters, scored in double figures for the Suns. Shawn Marion had 16 points and 11 rebounds and matched his season-high with five steals.

Steve Nash had 13 points and nine assists and Leandro Barbosa added 12 points.

Richard Jefferson scored 24 for the Nets, who were playing for the second night in a row. They lost 120-107 in overtime to the Clippers in Los Angeles on Thursday night.

Phoenix led by as many as 18 points in the first half and led by 11 at the break.

All-Star voting wraps up

All-Star voting ended Sunday with the starters to be announced Thursday.

Reserves will be announced Jan. 31.

The East starters, which could change in the final results Thursday, are Kevin Garnett and LeBron James at forward, Dwyane Wade and Jason Kidd at guard and Dwight Howard at center. The West starters were Tim Duncan and Carmelo Anthony at forward, Kobe Bryant and Tracy McGrady at guard and Yao Ming at center.

Hawks’ Johnson suspended

Atlanta Hawks starting point guard Anthony Johnson was suspended for today’s game against Portland without pay for committing a flagrant foul against Toronto’s Jose Calderon during Toronto’s 89-78 victory on Friday.
