•Average snowfall is 42 inches a year.

•Most snow in a season – 100 inches – was in 1963-64

•Most snow on the ground at once – 40 inches at the end of February - was in 1969.

•Converting snow to water: Fox says it takes about 13 inches of snow to make an inch of water because of our altitude. The national average is 10 inches. It takes 20 inches of powder to make an inch of water, while good snowball snow equates about eight inches of snow to an inch of water.
