We’re moving!

Cheryl-anne Millsap The Spokesman-Review

Change is a part of life. Everything evolves if it is around long enough.

Almost three years ago I came on board as the staff writer for Home. Then, a year later, I moved up as editor.

Those were both big changes for me, but I’ve loved every minute of it.

The Home section grew to be one of the most popular, and most read, parts of the paper. And every week I get phone calls and e-mails telling me just how much you like our product.

I couldn’t be prouder if you were praising one of my children.

But changes are afoot.

We’ve decided to stop producing Home as a separate section. The great content will return to the Friday paper as part of the Today section.

I’ll still edit and produce the material and we’ll continue to feature interesting homes and lifestyles of people in the area. We’re just making a few changes to the way we do it.

This is the last issue of Home. But it’s by no means the end of the great stories – your stories – that we’ll tell.

Friday, Feb. 1, we’ll re-launch. It will still be the same great home and garden features you’ve come to expect, just presented in a different way.

As always, I’m interested in what you have to say. If you’ve got an idea for a story or just want to make your opinion heard, give me a call at (509) 459-5153 or drop me a line at cam@spokesman.com.

The way I see it, this isn’t just our part of the newspaper.

It’s your Home, too.

This week in Home

Everything about this week’s cover feature is big. A big log cabin with a big view built by a couple with a big dream makes for a wonderful centerpiece, and I think you’ll enjoy it.

Our Newcomer feature introduces you to a photographer who discovered a picture-perfect life with his family in Coeur d’Alene, and gardening columnist Pat Munts tells you everything you need to know about snowflakes.

Change is good

Whether it’s moving furniture around the living room or, in the case of Home, rearranging the day of the week the section appears, change can give you a new outlook.

So, on Friday, Feb 1, look for Home in the Today section of the paper.

See you there.
