Cougars’ Ahmu arrested
PULLMAN – Washington State defensive tackle A’i Ahmu was arrested and ticketed for an alcohol offense Saturday and has been suspended indefinitely.
WSU football spokesman Bill Stevens said Cougars head coach Paul Wulff is gathering information before he decides the length of Ahmu’s suspension.
Ahmu was arrested after Pullman Police responded to a trespassing complaint at the Phi Kappa Alpha fraternity just after midnight, Cmdr. Chris Tennant said. Ahmu admitted to breaking a window, but the fraternity did not want to press criminal charges after Ahmu said he’d pay for the damage.
The 20-year-old football starter was taken to the police station and ticketed for being a minor showing signs of drunkenness in public, Tennant said.
“It’s just a misdemeanor,” Tennant said. “Pretty common down here.”
