The Spokesman-Review

Milfoil was introduced to North America at least 60 years ago.

It appeared in the Inland Northwest in the 1970s and ‘80s.

It spreads from lake to lake on boats and trailers.

The plant forms dense mats on the surface that can interfere with swimming, fishing, waterskiing and boating.

Established milfoil is very difficult to remove.
