Scout earns Eagle for Camp Caro project

Sean Clemens, a graduate at Gonzaga Preparatory School, was recently awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest award given in the Boy Scouts.

For his project, Clemens replaced lumber and hardware on the picnic tables and benches at Camp Caro in the Dishman Hills Natural Area. He is a member of Troop number 419.

Clemens is the son of John & Virginia Clemens of Spokane.

•James Huckabay was awarded the Eagle Scout award.

Huckabay is a member of Troop 313 and will soon be a sophomore at St. George’s School.

For his project, he removed hazardous material in a natural area on his school’s campus bordering Riverside State Park.

•Daniel Whittaker, a member of Troop 210, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout.

He organized a work party and earned $1,000 through jobs and donations for the restoration and painting of the Fellowship Hall and Prayer Room of the First Baptist Church in Newport, including installing 20 new light fixtures in the Hall.

Whittaker is the son of Earl and Marsha Whittaker of Spokane.
