Past experience: Worked on the grounds crew at Wandermere Golf Course as a teenager and, after turning pro, served 81/2 years as an assistant under Steve Prugh at Manito Golf & Country Club. Moved to Indian Canyon and spent 11/2 years as an assistant under Gary Lindeblad, before spending the next four as an assistant under Steve Conner at Downriver. Worked as the head professional at Birdies Golf Center for 11/2 years, and then went to Avondale, where he spent a year as an assistant under Tim Morton before taking over the head pro.

Best golf tip received: Never swing to 100 percent of your capability. Swing at 85 percent, and you will finish in balance and hit a lot more crisp shots.
