City seeks traffic feedback
The city of Spokane is seeking public comment on the draft University District/Downtown Spokane Transportation Improvement Study.
The study is designed to determine transportation deficiencies, improve traffic flow and congestion problems, identify and establish safe travel routes for bicyclists and pedestrians and evaluate future plans. DKS Associates is conducting the study.
Public comments are due by Aug. 8 and should be e-mailed to DKSTransportationStudy @spokanecity.org. Those without e-mail can call Andy Schenk at 625-7738 or Katherine Miller at 625-6338.
The draft study is available on the City’s Engineering Services Department’s Web site at: www.spokaneengineering. org/Downtown20Study/ Downtown20Study.htm.
A copy of the study can also be found at the Engineering Services Department on the second floor at City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.
Donations for Army requested
Operation Spokane Heroes is collecting bags for the First Battalion 161st Infantry of the Washington Army National Guard, deploying to Iraq in August.
Items needed for the bags are: shampoo and conditioner, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, soap, foot powder and other items.
Donations can be dropped off at any Global Credit Union until Aug. 8.
