AquaSox trip Indians
EVERETT – Walter Suriel gave up one run on six hits in 51/3 innings and struck out 10 to lead the Everett AquaSox to a 4-3 Northwest League baseball victory over the Spokane Indians Thursday night.
Matthew Renfree pitched the final 32/3 innings and struck out five more Indians batters to earn his third save.
Everett scored the first two runs of the game in the third inning on Dennis Raben’s two-run homer to center field.
Spokane’s David Paisano brought the Indians to within 2-1 with a run-scoring groundout in the fifth.
Manelik Pimentel’s line drive single to left field with two outs in the bottom of the fifth scored Luis Nunez and gave the AquaSox a 3-1 lead.
Everett (16-22) made it 4-1 in the bottom of the seventh on a bases-loaded walk.
Spokane (28-10) had a chance to get even in the eighth. With two outs, Dennis Guinn had a bases-loaded double to center but only two runs scored. Zach Zaneski struck out swinging to end the threat.
In the ninth, the Indians had the bases loaded with one out but Justin Pickett and Matthew West both struck out swinging.
