Post Falls Days begins Friday

Big Wheel races, a Beatles cover band, a fishing derby, carnival and a parade are planned for this weekend’s Post Falls Days celebration.

The town’s annual three-day party begins Friday and continues through Sunday evening at Q’emiln Park.

A full slate of events is planned with more than a dozen music acts and a magic show scheduled, along with a benefit dance set for Saturday night to raise money for Specialized Needs Recreation, a nonprofit that provides activities for developmentally disabled youth and teens.

The dance, with admission by donation, will feature entertainment by the Rhythm Dawgs.

The Post Falls Parks and Recreation Department is offering free shuttle bus rides from the Templin’s Red Lion parking lot at 414 E. First Ave. to the park from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 3 p.m. Sunday.

2-8 p.m. Food and crafts

3-5 p.m. Bill Bozly (Jazz)

3:30-5 p.m. Dick Frost’s magic show

5-8 p.m. Cold Shot (Rock)

6-8 p.m. Jim Huntsman Band (Country)

Saturday

11 a.m.-8 p.m. Food and crafts

10 a.m.-10 p.m. Paradise Amusement Carnival

11 a.m. Grand Parade on Seltice Way

11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Somebody’s Hero (‘60s to ‘80s music)

Noon-2:30 p.m. Revolver (Beatles covers)

1:30-3:30 p.m. Fishing Derby Casting Contest, on lawn near Grand Pavilion

1:30 p.m. McDonald’s Big Wheel Race (Registration is noon-1 p.m.)

2-4:30 p.m. Panhandle Polecats (Country)

3-5:30 p.m. Kathy Colton and The Reluctants (Folk, blues, bluegrass and country)

6-8 p.m. Charlie Butts and The Filter Tips (Jazz)

6-8 p.m. Coeurimba (Marimba music)
