Powwow planning failure

In response to “Powwow faces cash woes” (May 30), I find it hard to believe that the five local tribes mentioned can’t appropriate approximately $5,400 each to fund this event.

I believe they all have casinos and promote musical entertainment and sporting events throughout the year. The money they save by not having to pay either federal or state taxes should easily cover this event.

Having only raised $82 so far is poor planning on their part. To want the city to help finance their endeavor is not right. The city has enough financial problems already.
