Refugees have equal rights
The Spokesman-Review article by Dan Hansen regarding children who welcomed new residents from Myanmar (June 10) shows there are many who believe and demonstrate their belief that we are, in fact, our brothers’ keepers. But sadly, as the article also shows, there are some who do not. One family responded that the new arrivals should be greeted with signs which say, “Go home.” Unless that is a family of American Indians, they have no greater right to be here than the Burmese. And one last thought – the Burmese aren’t here to steal anyone’s land!
