Children’s summer program launched

The Spokesman-Review

The Edgecliff Neighborhood Center’s summer program for children, including free meals, began Tuesday.

Breakfast and lunch are served Monday through Friday at the center, 6903 E. Fourth Ave. The program is for children younger than 18, excluding infants, who live in the neighborhood.

Other children’s programs are scheduled for Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, starting at 9 a.m.

No services will be provided on Independence Day.

Opportunity

Car seat safety checks Friday

Spokane County Child Passenger Safety Team will be checking car seats from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Opportunity Presbyterian Church, 202 N. Pines Road.

Community volunteers from numerous organizations are providing the checks. Safety information will also be available.

The car seat checks are free and open to the public.
