Two suspects arrested in burglary cases

CHENEY – The Cheney Police Department was able to solve several vehicle break-ins last week when it made two arrests for suspicion of a residential burglary.

Commander Rick Campbell said the department received a burglary report June 17 and later during the investigation arrested Nathan D. Sallee, 19, on charges of possession of stolen property and burglary, and a 17-year-old male on charges of possession of stolen property and a felony possession of a controlled substance after the residential burglary at the 900 block of Fifth Street.

During the burglary some game cards, an Xbox, a PlayStation, computers guitars, shoes, knives, power tools, MP3 players, a watch, some cash, a backpack and more were reported stolen.

While police were investigating this case, they came across some prescription drugs made out in someone else’s name – items that were taken in a number of vehicle break-ins in the area.

The two that were arrested are now suspected in the following cases:

•On June 18, a theft at the 1500 block of Fifth Street. A cell phone, some cash and prescription medications were taken from a vehicle. There was another theft at the 1500 block of Fifth that same day when a cell phone and some gloves were taken from another vehicle. There was a theft of a pink bike at the 600 block of Clay.
