Vandals come off OT win

The University of Idaho men’s basketball team goes after another Western Athletic Conference victory tonight at San Jose State after coming through with an impressive win at Hawaii Thursday night.

Michael Crowell scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Idaho to the 85-77 overtime win in Honolulu.

Mike Hall added 16 points for the Vandals (7-19, 4-10 WAC), Jordan Brooks had 15 and Clyde Johnson 13.

Bill Amis led Hawaii (11-15, 7-6) with 20 points.

Idaho shot 5 of 6 from the floor in the overtime period to take control of the game 79-73 with 1:22 to go. Despite making just four of their first 14 free-throw attempts, the Vandals went 6 of 6 from the line in the final 25.5 seconds to seal the victory.

Idaho led by as much as 15 in the first half and led 33-28 at the break.
