Wildcats earn No. 1 seed

Ryan Selland tossed in a game-high 15 points, Chaz Johnson scored 14 and Connor Haley grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds to lead the Mt. Spokane Wildcats to a 48-39 victory over the West Valley (Yakima) Rams in the 3A boys regional championship game at Richland High School on Saturday.

Mt. Spokane (14-9) heads to the state tourney as the region’s top seed. West Valley (19-6) settles for the No. 2 seed.

Eastmont (18-7) of East Wenatchee beat Kennewick 46-38 to earn the region’s third berth to state.

Girls

Hanford (19-6) earned the region’s third and final berth to state with a 64-44 win over East Valley (8-15) at Richland High.
