NIC enters regional play

The North Idaho College men’s and women’s basketball teams begin Region 18 tournament play Thursday at College of Southern Idaho.

The NIC women (20-9), the third seed, take on No. 6 Colorado Northwestern Community College (0-26) at noon.

The NIC men (19-11), the fifth seed, take on No. 4 Snow College (14-16) at 7:30.

The single-elimination tournament concludes Saturday.

In the other first-round women’s game, No. 4 Snow College (13-16) faces No. 5 College of Eastern Utah (13-17). In the other first-round men’s game, No. 3 CEU (16-14) goes against No. 6 CNCC (3-23).

If the NIC men win, they would advance to take on No. 1 CSI (29-1). If the NIC women win, they would face No. 2 Salt Lake (23-7).
