Valley Ambassador title competition next Saturday
Next Saturday 15 Spokane Valley high school juniors will compete for the title of 2008 Miss Spokane Valley Ambassador. The coronation is set for 7 p.m. at University High School, 12420 E. 32nd Ave.
The finalists were selected by an individual scoring process, not on which school they attend, said organizer Connie Wagner. There are six students from University High School in the competition: Carly Anderson, Lauren Aubertin, Stevie Gildehaus, Ali Norris, Jessica Nowling and Katelyn Williams.
The other finalists are Hilary Bowen, Ashley Eggleston, Sydney Eggleston, Rachel Snook and Janelle Wagnild, all of Valley Christian School; Jessica Meier of West Valley High School; Desiree Rainey of East Valley High School; and Nicole Luth and Whitney Veloski, both of Central Valley High School.
The winner will receive a $1,000 college scholarship and the two runners-up will both receive $500 scholarships. The competition is hosted by the Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce, and proceeds will benefit the program and the scholarship recipients.
Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for students and seniors and $4 for kids under 12. Get tickets by calling the chamber at 924-4994.
