Plug-in mimics Firefox search
For some people, the main reason to use the Firefox browser is its great inline page search function, which opens a search window right on the lower frame of the browser window, where it belongs. Internet Explorer still uses a clunky popup window.
The solution: download a plugin called Inline Search. It’s free from the folks at ieforge.com.
Once installed, it mimics Firefox’s inline search options inside IE.
Getgspace.com
If you have a Gmail account, you likely have gobs of unused file storage that you could be using more effectively. Like 2 gigabytes of space, most of us.
Getgspace.com, another free online tool, lets you quickly and simply configure your browser (Mozilla) to upload or save documents, music files or photos to your Gmail account. Those documents will be there and can be accessed whenever you log onto the account. This works with Windows, Mac and Linux, but only with the Firefox browser.
Hautesecure.com
One more contestant in the free malware-tracker category is Haute Secure, a new tool developed by hautesecure.com. It’s got several nice features, including an optional toolbar-icon system that lets you see what other Hautesecure users have reported about a specific site (is it legit, does it use bad scripts, etc.). It’s free for now; Windows only.
