Rebels advance with OT win
Zach Graham scored 10 of his 14 points in overtime and Mississippi beat Nebraska 85-75 Monday night in Oxford, Miss, in the NIT.
The Rebels (23-10) missed two shots at the end of regulation with the score tied at 70, but outscored the Cornhuskers (21-13) 15-5 in overtime to win.
Nebraska hit 1 of 7 shots in OT and missed four free throws.
Virginia Tech 75, UAB 49: At Blacksburg, Va., A.D. Vassallo scored 18 points as the Hokies (21-13) came out strong and never looked back, beating the Blazers (23-11).
Virginia Tech plays a quarterfinal game at home Wednesday against Mississippi.
Dayton 55, Illinois State 48: At Normal, Ill., the Flyers (23-10) went on a 17-0 second-half run to break open a close game en route to a victory over the Redbirds (25-10).
Brian Roberts’s 16 points led Dayton.
Ohio State 73, California 56: At Columbus, Ohio, Jamar Butler scored 20 points and spurred a 17-2 first-half run with three 3-pointers to lead the Buckeyes (21-13) past the Golden Bears (17-16).
Ohio State, fifth in the Big Ten, advances to host a quarterfinal game Wednesday night against Dayton.
