Amanda Coburn threw a complete-game two-hitter for Coeur d’Alene, lifting the Vikings (3-2, 2-1) over the host Lake City Timberwolves (1-3, 1-1), 2-0 in Inland Empire League action Tuesday. Coburn had nine strikeouts and one walk. Lauren Horton led off the first inning with a double for the Vikings and later scored one of their two runs.

“The St. Maries Lumberjacks (2-0, 1-0) downed the visiting Priest River Spartans (0-4, 0-3) 13-8 in Intermountain League action. With the score tied 5-5 in the bottom of the fourth inning, St. Maries produced four runs to break the game open. Sheena Michael, Doris Sines, Katie Felix and Karly Truscott each had two runs batted in for the Lumberjacks.

Girls golf

Lewis and Clark’s Chessey Thomas won the Jim Shriver Cup at Manito Country Club with a 6-over-par 78. LC earned second place, losing to Gonzaga Prep by eight strokes. G-Prep’s Jenna Speltz was the runner-up with a 79. Mead’s Lauren Howell and Brittany Wilcox tied for third with 80s.

Boys soccer

The Riverside Rams (2-3, 2-1) needed two overtimes to edge the visiting Deer Park Stags (2-2, 2-2), 3-2 in Great Northern League play. Deer Park struck first in the match, leading 2-0 at halftime thanks to a pair of goals from Kevin McNeil. But Tyler Bland won it for the Stags from 18 yards out with 1 minute remaining in the second extra period. … The Pullman Greyhounds (5-0, 3-0) remain undefeated thanks to a 1-0 victory over the host Medical Lake Cardinals (2-3, 1-3). David Sharratt netted the lone goal for the Greyhounds 15 minutes into the match when he received a cross from T.K. Hemmi. … The Cheney Blackhawks (5-1, 4-1) remain atop the league standings with a 5-1 victory over the host Lakeside Eagles (4-1, 3-1) at Nine Mile Falls. Cheney’s Mitch Weller scored two goals and had an assist in the first half for the Blackhawks. … … Craig Norman and Chad Florance each scored twice for the visiting West Valley Eagles (4-1, 3-1) as they beat the Chewelah Cougars (1-5, 1-4), 5-0.

Track and field

Jake Price led the Lakeland Hawks to a victory over the host Post Falls Trojans in Intermountain League action. Price won the 400-meter run in 52.86 seconds, the 200 in 23.88 and was runner-up to teammate Austin Black in the high jump, clearing 5 feet, 10 inches. For the girls, April Bockstruck won the 1,600 and 3,200 for the visiting Lakeland Hawks as they cruised to a win over the Post Falls Trojans in IML action.
