Man arrested on drug charges
Officers arrested a 20-year-old Greenacres man on drug and gun charges Tuesday after he became nervous during a traffic infraction warranted.
Officer Mark Brownell spotted a man driving at Appleway and Argonne shortly after midnight Tuesday, and stopped him after noting a lighting violation on his Chevrolet pickup.
The officer cautioned the driver to get the lights fixed, but then engaged him in further conversation after noting that the driver was becoming increasingly nervous during the stop. The driver eventually told Brownell that he had a drug pipe in his glove box.
Brownell arrested Joshua M. Hoye, 19027 E. Michelli Ave., for possession of the pipe which contained marijuana, then searched his clothing and found a second drug pipe that contained methamphetamine. A search of the truck revealed a 9 mm semiautomatic pistol with a loaded magazine.
Hoye was booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and minor in possession of a pistol.
