The Rathdrum Lions Club is hosting cowboy and cowgirl poets from across the region on May 17 at Lakeland High School.

Poets and musicians Jim Aasen, Maxine Larson, Eric Larson, Howard Norskog, Virgil Sears and Jim Bullard are scheduled to perform at 7 p.m.

The cost is $10 at any Lions Club or $12 at the door.

Kids raise funds for ‘Protectors’

Hayden Meadows Elementary School will donate $750 to the Kootenai County Police and Fire Memorial Foundation Inc. Wednesday.

The money was raised in five days by students in Kristin Childers’ classroom in the “Pennies for Protectors” project.

The project builds positive relations between kids and firefighters and police officers.

Post Falls

Parade applications now available

Applications are available for the June 7 Post Falls Days Parade.

The annual parade, sponsored by Coldwell Banker Schneidmiller Realty, begins at 11 a.m. and is one of several events planned that weekend as part of the Post Falls Days celebration.

Nonprofit civic organizations do not need to pay an entry fee to participate in the parade. The fee for other entries is $15.

Applications are available at the Post Falls Chamber of Commerce and Coldwell Banker’s Post Falls office. The forms also can be downloaded from www.postfallsidaho.org or fyinorthidaho.org.
