In brief: Phone line move will interrupt Post Falls service
Phone lines will be relocated to the new City Hall in Post Falls on Friday. The old and new city halls, along with the Park and Recreation Department and Community Development Department offices, will be without phone and e-mail service during the morning.
The police, library, and Public Works Department will have phone service.
SNR hosting talent show
Special Needs Recreation participants are hosting the talent show, “As Seen on T.V.,” from 6 to 8 p.m. on May 17 at Prairie View Elementary School, 2478 E. Poleline Road.
Raffle drawings will be held throughout the night. Prizes will include movie passes and a night stay and dinners to the Coeur d’Alene Resort, the Coeur d’Alene Casino, Crickets, and Azteca.
Tickets are $5 per person at the door. Money raised will fund scholarships to the summer day camps for special-needs children ages 4 to 21.

Mother’s Day concerts planned
The musical and choral groups at North Idaho College will perform “Steppin’ Out with My Baby … A Date Night for Moms” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, in the Boswell Hall Schuler Performing Arts Center.
The “Mother’s Day in the Park” concert will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the Coeur d’Alene City Park band shell. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to the Boswell Hall Schuler Performing Arts Center.
Both concerts are free and open to the public.
Farmers’ market opens Saturday
The Kootenai County Farmers Market opens Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Wednesday, from 4 to 7 p.m. The markets are on the southeast corner of U.S. Highway 95 and Prairie Avenue and Fifth Avenue and Sherman in downtown Coeur d’Alene.
The markets include locally grown vegetables, spring and fresh produce, and the opening event also includes live music.

Chamber luncheon next Thursday
The Rathdrum Area Chamber of Commerce Luncheon will be held at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 13541 W. Highway 53 next Thursday at noon.
The luncheon is a candidate forum for the May 27 election.
