Top Scout cookie sellers named
Thirty-five hundred local Girl Scouts sold more than 500,000 boxes of cookies this spring, making 2008 another successful year for the program, according to Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho CEO Pam Lund.
As part of this year’s cookie program, Girl Scouts encouraged their customers to purchase and donate boxes of cookies to U.S. military troops as part of a community service project called Operation: Troop 2 Troop. As a result, more than 9,000 boxes of cookies are being donated.
The average number of cookies sold by Girl Scouts this year was 148 boxes. The top 15 sellers are:
