Transit system changed

STA has changed and for the better!

Fifteen years ago, as a single parent with two small children, I used the bus system exclusively; to be frank, I did not enjoy it. Yesterday I spent six hours (on a class project) traveling around Spokane via the bus and it was a completely different experience.

The drivers were informative, pleasant and patient, and most unexpectedly, there was a general atmosphere of conviviality.

I am going to guess that the vast majority of people who do not support the continued funding for the bus system do not utilize its services. They ought to.

As for myself, as gas prices continue to climb, I am going to ride the bus more frequently, and I’m going to enjoy the ride.
