The Junior Lilac Parade – billed by its organizers as one of the largest children’s parades in the country – will start at 10 a.m. Saturday. The organizing Rotaract Club expects 97 entries, including bands, drill teams and politicians, with most of the action on Spokane Falls Boulevard.

This year’s theme is “Salute Today’s Children, Tomorrow’s Future.”

Most bands are from Spokane-area elementary and middle schools. The weather forecast calls for clouds with high temperatures in the low 60s.
