Her millions of fans expect her to be outrageously funny, politically outspoken and sometimes just plain off the charts! And Joy Behar, a co-host of ABC’s super hit “The View,” constantly delivers. Behar is a true comedy pacesetter, as well as a top actress on the big screen and the stage. She actually began a career in teaching, but switched paths in mid-life to pursue her true calling, with her standup routines in New York City’s top comedy clubs.

Her first book, “Joy Shtick: or What Is the Existential Vacuum and Does It Come with Attachments?”, and her first children’s book, “Sheetzucacapoopoo: My Kind of Dog,” both appeared on the New York Times bestseller list. Ms. Behar’s new book, “When You Need a Lift,” was released last fall. She is helping to introduce Kraft’s Bagel-fuls, an all-in-one combination of bagels and Philadelphia cream cheese. In addition to Kraft Bagel-fuls, what other foods do you recommend for busy women like yourself, who are always on the go?

“What I love on the go is fat-free yogurt. And it has to be Greek yogurt, with the little spot of honey and about a quarter cup of granola. I like to throw that in my pocketbook, along with nuts and mozzarella string cheese because they’re high in protein.”

Can you compare stand-up comedy to cooking?

“They are both risky, especially if you are naked!”

Of all the foods you regularly enjoy, which best fits your personality?

“Fusilli pasta, because it looks like my hair on humid days. And then there’s roasted large-mouthed bass! It’s self-explanatory, isn’t it?”

If you could create a piece of gum that tastes like any food, it would be:

“Eggplant Parmesan.”

Name three foods you wish didn’t have any calories.

“Pizza, french fries and rice pudding.”

How about a wild snack you enjoy?

“First there’s chocolate with salt on it. And figs and prosciutto with ricotta salata, which is delicious.”

Crunchy Berry Breakfast

1 cup sliced fresh strawberries

1/2 cup vanilla low-fat yogurt

1/4 cup Post Grape Nuts cereal

Layer half portion of each ingredient in a medium glass. Repeat layers and serve immediately. Substitute blueberries if preferred. This is a healthy snack that children can have fun making for themselves.
