Idaho superlatives offered in one trip

Rich Landers Outdoors editor

Three Idaho superlatives – biggest, highest, deepest – are captured in one high-flying new trip offered this summer by River Odysseys West.

•Sea-kayak on Lake Pend Oreille, the state’s largest lake,

•Climb 12,668-foot Mount Borah, the state’s tallest peak,

•Raft Hells Canyon, the deepest gorge in the U.S.

•The consecutive adventures are over the course of seven days by air taxi for a bird’s eye view of the stunning landscape.

“It’s a high-end trip and definitely a physically challenging trip, but it’s not extreme,” said ROW owner Peter Grubb. “It’s for people wanting to exert some energy into their experience for the greater rewards.

At $1,975, this trip aims at people who have spare change. “Active families are looking for something different and something more than going to Glacier Park and hiking,” Grubb said.
