Man steals Greenacres woman’s purse
A man wearing all black clothing and a black mask robbed a 56-year-old Greenacres woman of her purse.
The woman had just given her roommate a ride to his janitorial job and returned to her home on Tshirley Road north of Sprague Avenue minutes after 2 a.m., said Spokane Valley police spokesman Sgt. Dave Reagan. As she was exiting her car, the robber reached in and grabbed her purse.
Although he said nothing, she began screaming for help and the robber planted his hand over her mouth. The woman was dragged 15 to 20 feet before the purse strap broke and the man was able to get away with it.
Officers attempting to track the robber did not locate him, but they did find a letter that had been inside the purse along the north side of Greenacres Elementary School.
The victim suffered a bruised knee in the incident, but did not require medical treatment. She described the robber as male, about six feet tall with a husky build.
Anyone with information regarding this strong-arm robbery is asked to call the Spokane Valley Police at 242-TIPS.
