Boys & Girls Clubs of America in Spokane County recently received national recognition for its 2007 Comprehensive Marketing Strategy. The club received the bronze Marketing and Communication Award for its Comprehensive Marketing Strategy out of all Boys & Girls Clubs with an operating budget of $500,000 or less in the country.

The award was based upon marketing goals and objectives, as well as program results. The Boys and Girls Clubs of Spokane County was recognized out of more than 4,300 clubs across the country that were eligible for the award.

North Side

Parks, youth center offer day camp

The city of Spokane Parks and Recreation Department and the Northeast Youth Center III, 6528 N. Monroe St., will host its 10th annual day camp, including field trips for each age-appropriate group.

Minimal registration fees will apply, and registration is accepted now. Payment plans are available. State pay is accepted, and camp includes breakfast and lunch program, T-shirt, and most field trips.

Space is limited for one week or all 10 weeks. Hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Cost is $109 per week, and extended care is 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and an additional $3 per day or $10 per week.

Theater Arts holding auditions

Theater Arts for Children, 10814 E. Broadway Ave., will be holding auditions for “Sindee Lou Ella (A Cinderella Story)”, Sunday and Monday at 6:30 p.m.
