CdA man dies in ATV accident
A Coeur d’Alene man died Friday after he lost control of his ATV on an unpaved county road, struck a barbed wire fence and landed more than 100 feet from the road.
The 49-year-old, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene from massive head trauma, according to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department.
The crash occurred about 3 p.m. in the 6200 block of East Ohio Match Road, east of Highway 95 and north of Hayden Lake.
The man’s identity was withheld pending family notification.
