Pools open June 14

Renovation of bathhouses at Spokane Valley’s three swimming pools is expected to be finished when the pools open June 14.

City spokeswoman Carolbelle Branch said pool users can expect to see new fencing, better plumbing fixtures, wheelchair-accessible showers – and some ongoing construction of new features.

Terrace View is to get a “lazy river” attraction; Park Road, a water slide; and Valley Mission, a sloping “zero-depth” training pool. Some preparation work will occur this summer, but major construction won’t begin until after this summer’s swimming season ends.
