Police question pair after fatal shooting
Police took two men in for questioning Saturday evening about an early morning shooting downtown that killed one man and injured two others.
Police identified the slain man as Joshua Ridgley, 22, of Spokane. Two others were treated at a hospital for gunshot wounds to the hand and leg and were released.
Police were called to a Diamond Parking lot near The Blvd Tavern in the 300 block of West Spokane Falls Boulevard just after 12:30 a.m.
“There was some kind of argument and fight,” said police Officer Devin Presta.
Several people stepped in, and one of the men involved in the confrontation went to his car, pulled out a gun and fired into the crowd, police said.

Man, woman seek drug in Bi-Mart robbery
A masked man and woman robbed the Bi-Mart store in Deer Park shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday, displaying the handle of a pistol and demanding the painkiller OxyContin.
They took off their masks before fleeing on foot. A store employee thought the woman was a local resident. Based on that information, Spokane County sheriff’s deputies surrounded a Deer Park residence in the 600 block of South Main Avenue, but the suspect wasn’t inside.
Since June, robbers demanding OxyContin, a potent pain medication, have hit Inland Northwest drugstores eight times.
On Saturday a woman approached a Bi-Mart pharmacy employee and asked for the drug while a man stood behind her. She held the butt of a pistol inside a paper bag, but showed it to the employee.
The woman was described as white and wearing a black ski mask, a black pullover sweat shirt and black pants. Witnesses who saw her without the mask said she was fair skinned and freckled.
The man wore a navy and white bandanna over his face, a black zippered sweat shirt and black jeans. He had curly hair and his nose was pierced through the septum.
