Trails closed for construction
The Centennial Trail and Prairie Trail will be closed at and surrounding the intersection of the two trails approximately through Thanksgiving.
In a collaborative effort among the North Idaho Centennial Trail Foundation, Riverstone and Avista, construction crews are working to relocate power lines running along Seltice Way, by burying the lines underground along the Centennial Trail in the vicinity of the Seltice/ I-90/Appleway Bridges.
In addition to burying power lines, improvements to the intersection of the Centennial Trail and Prairie Trail between the Seltice Way and I-90 Bridges are to be carried out simultaneously, including lighting the area under the bridges and sloping the trail.
Additionally, an off-ramp is planned so that visitors coming from the west can bypass the Centennial Trail-Prairie Trail intersection to travel south on the Prairie Trail towards Riverstone. During the construction, crews will install swales at each corner of the intersection to mitigate stormwater runoff.
Trail users should watch for detour instructions at Atlas Road, Beebe Boulevard and Golf Course Drive while the construction is under way.
