Free Thanksgiving meals

Several Inland Northwest organizations offer free Thanksgiving meals for low-income residents, on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, or before. If you know of other meal sites, especially in Spokane Valley and North Idaho, please contact Rebecca Nappi at rebeccan@spokesman.com or 459-5496.

Our Place Ministries, 1509 W. College, 326-7267. Thanksgiving baskets for those residing in Our Place service area. Sign-up is required at Our Place by next Thursday.

Women’s and Children’s Free Restaurant, 1620 N. Monroe St., 324-1995. Thanksgiving dinner served Tuesday, 4 to 6 p.m. No reservations are needed. Men are welcome, too.

Salvation Army, 222 E. Indiana Ave., 325-6821. Thanksgiving dinner items (to prepare your own meal) will be distributed on Nov. 25, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Please bring: Picture identification for all adults 18 and older, plus proof of children living in the household, such as medical coupons. Adults also need proof of current address, such as utility or phone bills.

•The Union Gospel Mission, 1224 E. Trent Ave., 535-8510. Thanksgiving program and turkey dinner will be Nov. 26 at 6 p.m. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. No reservations required.

City Gate, 170 S. Madison St., 455-9670. Thanksgiving meal served Nov. 26, 5 to 8 p.m. No reservations required.

Central United Methodist Church, 518 W. Third Ave., 455-9019. Thanksgiving Day, 1 to 3 p.m. No reservations required. Dinner guests should enter through the back of the church. Wheel chair accessibility available.

St. Aloysius Parish, 330 E. Boone Ave., 313-5896. Thanksgiving Day, noon to 2 p.m. Dinner will be served in the Globe Room of Cataldo Hall, across the courtyard from the church. No reservations required.

Lake City Senior Center, 1916 Lakewood Drive, Coeur d’Alene. (509) 226-3208. Nov. 27, noon to 2 p.m. No reservations required. Transportation is available.
