CWU booted from playoffs

Keith Flemming had four rushing touchdowns and Keith Null threw for 463 yards and three scores to lead West Texas A&M (11-1) past Central Washington 49-42 Saturday in Canyon, Texas, in the first round of the Division II football playoffs.

Mike Reilly threw for a career-high 420 yards for Central Washington (10-2), completing 30 of 61 passes with one interception. Johnny Spevak had four touchdowns and 129 yards on nine catches.

Puget Sound 58, Lewis & Clark 14: Silas Paul rushed for four TDs – all in the first half – and the Loggers (3-6, 1-5) crushed the Pioneers (1-8, 0-6) in Northwest Conference play in Tacoma.

Willamette 28, Menlo 3: The Bearcats (10-0, 6-0) cruised past the Oaks (3-7, 2-4) in Salem, Ore., to complete a perfect regular and conference season and earn the NWC’s automatic berth in the Division III playoffs.

Linfield 45, PLU 0: Travis Masters piled up 273 all-purpose yards and scored two TDs to lead the Wildcats (6-3, 5-1 NWC) over the Lutes (3-6, 3-3) in Puyallup, Wash.
